Context

Production software has
real consequences.

Virtual Yard supports operational workflows across more than 700 dealership locations. At CFS Group, I contribute to production PHP, SQL, jQuery, and Framework7 systems used by OEM and dealership teams.

The work requires understanding existing behaviour before changing it, tracing issues across web, mobile, and data layers, and verifying that improvements preserve the workflows dealership teams already depend on.

Engineering approach

From symptom to
verified change.

A representative delivery pattern, written without exposing proprietary architecture, customer data or internal implementation details.

01

Frame the problem

A dealer workflow can span jQuery web and Framework7 mobile interfaces backed by the same PHP and SQL behaviour. I first define the expected states and identify which users and surfaces may be affected.

02

Trace the behaviour

I follow the interaction from the interface event through request handling and the relevant data read or write, comparing existing web and mobile behaviour before deciding where the change belongs.

03

Make a narrow change

I reuse established backend rules and keep interface states consistent across affected surfaces, avoiding a second path that could drift from the product’s existing behaviour.

04

Verify the workflow

I exercise the affected journey on web and mobile, check data transitions and failure or empty states, then regression-check adjacent steps before the change is considered ready.

Contribution

Work grounded in
the whole system.

The product and underlying implementation are proprietary, so this case study deliberately focuses on responsibilities and engineering approach rather than confidential architecture or customer data.

01

Dealer workflows

Developing and improving operational flows used by dealership teams, with an emphasis on clear states, dependable data handling and maintainable implementation.

02

Identity and access

Contributing to authentication and account experiences that balance user convenience with the requirements of production dealer systems.

03

Web and mobile delivery

Delivering tailored interfaces for OEMs and local dealerships across existing web and Framework7-based mobile surfaces.

04

Production care

Working within a mature PHP and SQL platform where safe changes, debugging and awareness of downstream workflows matter as much as feature speed.

What this demonstrates

Careful delivery inside
a system already at scale.

I bring product awareness, implementation discipline and respect for operational context to an established platform. The strongest outcome is dependable improvement: shipping useful work while leaving the system easier to understand and change.
